Here's my latest set up. Suggestions are most welcome.

Power - SwitchPro
Clock - D-Clock
Launcher - ADW
Calendar - Android Agenda Widget (not shown, but it's wonderful w/scrolling support)
Dock icons - thrown together in Corel

After much deliberation and attempts at customization, I've decided to move forward using ADW. The only clear benefit (for me) in using Launcher Pro Plus would be the ease of changing dock images. Use of "custom shortcuts" in ADW comfortably takes care of my need for dock customization, and I don't really have any need for the widgets included in LPP. All these are flexible, but the ultimate deciding factor was the maximum number of homescreen rows.

I'm familiarizing myself with the ADW Theme Template, so I will hopefully have a custom theme to post in a week or so. My biggest struggle at the moment is picking which of my ideas to run with. In the interest of simplicity it will probably be my "Clean Funk" theme. It won't be fancy with my limited graphic design skills, but it will be clean and attractive.

EDIT: I spent my evening working on an ADW theme I've named Sprinkles: viewtopic.php?f=26&t=528

I found Desktop Visualizer to be the easiest to use for changinging desktop icons.
Iv'e been going here for icons, they have a ton of them. http://www.iconfinder.com/
Heres the link to launcher pro forum with a whole bunch of docks. http://www.launcherpro.com/forum/viewto ... f=11&t=854
I used ADW till a couple days ago and I am so glad I finally switched to LauncherPro+. Its definitely worth $3.

Thanks so much for your response. I'll check those links out in a few minutes. Having just made the switch from ADW to LP, what have you found to be the clear benefits? I really like ADW but would consider a switch if it's that much better.

EDIT: Please see my previous post in this thread regarding ADW vs. LPP.

Peace & thanks

- Paul (on Droid X)

I liked ADW because of the customization and it's good but it really doesnt even compare to LP+. I love the fact that i can literally make my dock look any way i choose. When i first started playing with it I took a panoramic pic and set it as my dock back ground and it looked pretty cool. I would say the amount of customization and the ease of doint it make it better than ADW. Also, if you side swype the dock it gives you 2 more dock screens to customize. You set each spot for what to do and give it an icon. This gives you 15 apps to launch from the dock, so it keeps your homescreen clearer for widgets. LP+ comes with pretty good scrolling widgets for contacts, web bookmarks, calendar, messaging, and twitter. I cant even put into words how easy it is to customize. You really get a lot with this. It also has backup/restore function for your screen setup. well, thats the long answer, short answer is just do it. I wish i had switched MUCH sooner.

Droid X with LauncherPro Plus. Check out the link below to recreate this. But if anyone is willing to resize the .png's to better line up on a Droid, I'd be quite grateful....
