I just ordered a Droid 2 ext battery from Verizon for my Droid 1. You have to use the battery cover that comes with the battery (just sticks out a tiny tiny bit) but I was wondering if anyone has this and if so what case will fit with this? I have a seidio case on my Droid right now but when that battery gets here I dont know what Iam going to do with the bottom of the phone with that battery in it. Any suggestions? Thanks
I just use the front cover (Chrome) from my old case and the Seidio battery cover. Works great. BTW the battery cover sticks out more than a little bit. On an unrelated note, no matter what ROM I use I never get a true battery life indication. The battery indicator drains down at the usual rate, I get a low battery warning and when I reboot the indicator goes up to 80% and then drains fast, reboot, 60% and so on.
I think you are talking about the seidio ext battery which does stick out a lot. I have seen the pics of the ext battery for the Droid 2 and it barely sticks out but enough to where you have to use the battery cover that comes with the battery.
The main advantage to the bulge from an extended battery is that you can spin your phone on a desk for countless hours... you know... if you need that kind of distraction.
Anyways, from what little I read just now after a search, people are raving on the Droid 2 extended battery. It definitely doesn't look anything like the bulge on the D1 extended battery I got from Seidio.
Try your case with the extended battery first. It's so slim it might fit, I don't know about your case, but the one I got for my D2 from Verizon fits just fine around the "plus size" battery.
If it doesn't fit... try using it with no battery cover and use your case itself to hold the battery in place. If it's too loose, think about putting something in there to shim it tight.
