SD card error

My thunderbolt sometimes has this weird error. My SD card either unmounts itself and yells at me, or goes into this ridiculous read only mode. I have to pull the battery, pull out the SD card, turn it back on, pull out the battery, put the SD and battery back in, then it registers after it turns back on. Help!
