App Request: Podcast player that lets me bookmark audio?

Postby rgrluke » Mon Jan 24, 2011 10:21 am

I have been useing Google listen for the few podcasts that I listen to and it works fine for jut listening to it... but lately I have been really wishing that I could figure out a way to bookmark more than one spot in time in a podcast so that when I want to share that with my wife/friends or review it again I can get right to the point where I want.
I think that this might be possible with Mort Audio Book player, but I am not sure how to best pull the podcasts into my phone for offline listening?

I know that I could sync with my computer via !tunes, etc... but the whole point is that I don't want to have to sync with my computer... I just want it all to happen on my phone.

I see that other players like Dogcatcher are popular, but I am not sure if they will do what I specifically want, let me bookmark multiple places in a podcast for later review?

Any advice on:
1. A player that lets me bookmark multiple spots in a podcast(s)?
2. A automated way to download a podcast so that I can use Mort Audio Book player?

Thanks for any help.

Ok, just in case anyone else is interested I found a solution (that although not all-in-one works for what I am doing).
I am downloading the podcasts with Acast (the free version) and I have it set to download them only when the phone is plugged in to my charger.
Rather than playing them in Acast I play the podcast in Mort Audio Book Player (also free) by pointing it to the Acast download location on my SD card. That way I can listen to the podcasts I have downloaded even when I do not have steaming service. Since it is an audio book player it lets me put as many bookmarks in the podcast as I want and easily navigate back to them in the future. And since I am not streaming anything unless my phone is charging the effect on my battery life is almost unnoticed.

It was not that hard to get set up, and while I would rather just have this functionality built into a podcast player, what I have now is working well. It is really nice to be able to go back into a podcast that I am referencing and quickly find the specific place(s) that I need to hear again.
