Phone won't go past Moto "M"

Postby FusionSaint » Tue Dec 07, 2010 11:47 am

Hey all, I rooted my phone today (newb) and was toying around with some of the things you could do with it. I installed the new Gingerbread keyboard and everything was hunky-dory. Then I installed what I assumed was the "predictive text fix" for the new keyboard and since then my phone won't launch past the MOTO M logo. I tried doing the nandroid recovery but it said no files were found. I know I backed it up but I must of done something wrong.

I had installed ROM Manager and ClockWorkMod Recovery prior to installing the Gingerbread Keyboard.

I also tried wiping the chache as well as trying the "factory reset" button, but nothing seems to help me get past the Moto M logo... help?

*facepalm*, u need to either hav the bootstrap recovery app (if u hav a droid x, SINCE U DIDNT MENTION WHICH PHONE UR USING) installed or rom manager. once u hav them, u add clockwork recovery to ur boot process clicking boostrap (in bootstrap recovery) or install clockwork recovery (in rom manager) u can make a backup by choosing the option in rom manager or manually by rebooting into recovery in bootstrapper and making a backup ther.

if u did none of that ^^^^ then u need to flash an sbf file, reroot, and spend countless hrs setting ur phone back up cuz u will hav no data. no apps, no contacts, nothing. only wat was on ur sd card will remain. since u didnt mention which phone ur using, i cant giv u a link to how to flash an sbf.

i cant imagine wat else culd b wrong. sooo.... looks like ur flashin an sbf
