MIUI ROM

Postby CheeseMcGee » Wed Oct 27, 2010 7:52 pm

Since the only post in here about the emerging MIUI ROM was accidentally deleted in the forum meltdown today, I will bring the topic back, because if you haven't taken the time to try out the MIUI ROM, you don't know what you are missing!

Some of the guys over at Droidforums.net joined together to create Team D1-MIUI, and this rom has some serious potential! They have made it a standalone ROM, so you no longer have to install someone elses custom rom, then flash MIUI on top, and then search all over the place for patches and updates to fix little bugs. They now have the rom 99% stable, and after putting it through its paces for the last few days, I haven't been able to find one thing to compalin about.

I really hope the guys over at Google are watching this rom closely and take some notes... I would love to see lots of this make it into the promised "UI overhaul"

Go here to check out the latest release and installation instructions:

I am a bit of a minimalist, and with that I must say that I freaking love the folders option! No longer need to scroll through the app drawer to find exactly what I need. As you can see, I just labeled my folders accordingly.

so is anyone else having a LOT of bug issues with MIUI on the OG droid? the bottom left part of my touch screen will randomly stop working, so I can't use the back button (VERY frustrating) or hit 'archive' in g-mail or other incredibly useful stuff like that. it will also randomly start freaking the touch screen out, as if an invisible 6-year old is trying to hit as many buttons on it as possible all at once. it's started happening with greater frequency over the past two days, and unless I can do something about it I'm going to have to flash back to froyo...
which REALLY sucks because I LOVE miui

That isn't actually a problem with the rom, it is actually your phone! I have had two previous D1 phones do the same exact thing. Call verizon, explain the problem and tell them you want a warrantee replacement. A few days later you will have a free replacement that you can then root and reload Miui!!
