Case Or No Case

Just wanted to take a quick Poll as to how many of you use cases for your smart phones? and if you do which kind of case, I use a clear plastic case from verizon but it collects a lot of lint in the pocket.

I use a leather holster style case. My son has no case for his D1. I've had mine twice as long as he and mine looks much better, very few scratches.

I use the red Best Buy case on my DX. Yes, I know it is a rip off, but I'm clumsy and its better safe than sorry. I dropped it on the pavement 2 weeks from brand new, case came off but the phone was fine.

So it all breaks down to if you often drop things or not.

BUY A CASE!
My son knocked my incredible out of my hand and when it hit, it shattered. I've got a body glove case for my DX and it almost feels indestructible. I've dropped it a couple times and it took it like a champ

Always use a Case, Ive had a case on my Droid since day 1, Started with the body glove case, Then the outter box, Which makes the phone look huge! And now I have some thin black case on it form Verizon.

I use a leather horizontal belt clip type. Keeps it safe and sound. I dont like my Droid 2 in my pocket.

I have two different silicone cases. A black rubberized one, and a green hard plastic one. But both make the phone feel bulky, make the camera controls hard to use etc... I am usually careful w/ it, so I may try going ceaseless for a while. Phone feels much slimmer and smoother w/out a case. Still worried what may happen if I drop it.

I bought the leather holster from Verizon because they were discounting it 25%, it was reasonably priced to start and the phone fits in it perfectly. I've looked at many holsters from the ones being hawked on the street to those at a leather goods store. The quality of the Verizon one is on the upper end. I prefer magnetic flaps for holsters. It can be set either vertical or horizontal but makes much more sense to me to use it horizontally. I've been using horizontal holsters for the last 10 years (treo, xv6700, touch pro and now droid x). Always goes back in unless I'm using it or at a desk. Never gotten a scratch on my phones (I use a screen protector also, the Steinheil Crystal this time) but did break the Touch Pro screen early on when I dropped it onto the corner of a table.

When I am at work I use a full hard case, where it males me turn the screen into to case. I have a leather case for when not at work but rarely use it. Pocket works great.

Nothing but a screen protector film on my D1. I used to have a hard plastic case/mount combo on it, but it's a pain to get those hard cases off if I wanted to use a media dock. So I took it off. I'd consider a case again if I could find a nice "soft" silicone type case for the D1 so it's easy to remove when I want to.

I had a protective shell for the first couple of months but I prefer a naked Incredible. It just looks and feels better naked. Just have to ensure I'm extra careful with it.

I'd highly recommend the Incipio Silicrylic case. It's about as sleek as you can get vs naked but offers a good amount of protection too. Two piece case with softer silicone inner sleeve and hard outer shell made of acrylic. Easy to put on and take off too.
