Missed Call Notification ?

New here so forgive me but I can't find the information I am looking for
I was a long time BB user so I am a little lost after being set in my ways.

Here is one of my many problems
when I miss a phone call I have no way of knowing this as there is no pop up saying missed call
if there is where is the setting. I had a family member trying to get intouch with me but I had no way of knowing this until I got into the phone and went to recent and seen they called.

What can be done?

are you sure you don't geta notification?

With my D2 Global I get a Little red squirmy thing in the notification bar when I miss a call
