Droid X, WIFI not working, Android 2.2

Hello,

I recently upgraded from my Droid 1 to a Droid X. I like the new machine...with 2 complaints.

1. The WIFI does not work. I try to surf or do anything that requires network access and I get an "network unavailable" or "Web page unavailable" error. I have tried to reset my network, redone the security, etc. Everything else in my wireless network works just fine. Have yet to try somewhere else with WIFI. The status bar shows the WIFI symbol and signal strength being 3 or 4 bars. I went to a V store and they said that they could try to "reset" my phone to fix the issue. Anyone else seen this problem? Any troubleshooting suggestions short of returning for a refund within 30 days.

2. The "car dock" screen comes up quite often when holstering. I am using a generic leather belt holster that was provided for free when buying from Costco. (FYI...Buying Dx at Costco for $149 got me the phone and a "accessories pack" that included car charger, holster and ear bud /mic.). Cannot seem to recreate when I want to but then some days it will happen a dozen times in a row...is there something that gets pushed to cause the phone to go into car dock mode? I typically turn the screen off by pushing power then holster...and I will hear a click and see the screen has come back on with the big 6 buttons. If I ignore the screen will timeout but upon reuse / awakening the car dock screen is up and I have to back out (or press home) to get back to my home screen.
