Droid X on the 4G network?

Im a big fan of droid-life and it has become my favorite place to come for all things android so I thought id share this little tid-bit of information here:
A couple days ago i went to Best Buy and on the way in i picked up one of their Best Buy Mobile magazines from a rack and started looking through the pages. I was busy admiring every detail of the beautiful Droid X (of course) and noticed that on the landscape display they where showcasing, it had a little tiny 4G symbol in the notification bar. Is the Droid X going to be coming to 4G soon? Or did someone just mess up completely?

if you could check the bestbuy weekly ad page for your area, it should be able to confirm with what your saying.

I am going to ask my contact at Verizon if this is true or a gaff by Best Buy

Highly unlikely. Droid X currently only work on Verizon. As far as I know, it does not contain component to do either LTE or WiMAX (same component can be programmed to utilize either standard).

I got my Dx at Go wireless and the guy told me that verizon was going 4G by the end of the year and that the driod x would be 4G. He's one of my friends so i believe it.

for what its worth on a personal note; have a friend in chorpus where 4g has been for a while, he switched from at and t to sprint evo 4g and kept getting terrible reception and slower speeds.
cant imagine thats always the case though....

Faber I'm guessing it's totally based on area. There are plenty of tests on youtube that show 4g i clearly faster than 3g even if it is Sprint. As for Droid X if this thing was 4g I would probably cream my pants, go to the rooftops and scream with joy. That would be the best thing ever!

Not happening guys- sorry.. All LTE phones will have a micro SIM card- Droid X has no such slot. Personally, I don't think that VZW would release a 4G-capable phone before 4G actually goes up..
